I love the Fourth of July. I am a patriotic person for sure but this holiday brings so many fond memories of my childhood. I am trying to pass many of those same memories on to my own kids. No matter what ones political and/or social views are, it is important to reflect on our independence as a country and pay homage to those who fought so hard to establish the good ol' USA. On the running front, things are going very well. I have the Grandfather Mountain Marathon next weekend. I have always wanted to do this race and am excited to finally be in it. Hopefully it will be a nice training run. More to come soon.

Bedford, Enjoy Grandfather. I have run Grandfather several times and you will enjoy it. It is not your typical road marathon, so enjoy and good luck. I will be running Rattlesnake, so let's pray for cooler temps. Rick
